Go to Orders > find the desired lab order > press the ▼ on the right side > Notify Me

Select Priority near the bottom of the order box

• Discuss with the patient’s nurse

Select Link Order at the bottom of the order box

• This is useful if you want to titrate/taper a drug as scheduled (e.g. prednisone taper), provide different routes of a drug without overdosing, or order drugs on condition (e.g. PPI while on prednisone)

Orders > enter all orders for the panel > select Options > Create Panel

• This is helpful if you want to frequently use a set of orders without typing individual orders - e.g. for routine AM labs, specific work-ups, or linked orders as above

• For example, save a set of AM CBC/lytes/Cr and name it ‘am labs’ - now you can type ‘am labs’ as an order

Orders > Order History > Discontinued > select the order > select Reorder

• This is helpful for quickly reordering a complicated order/panel, or previous diet (if unclear)

Method 1 - use the Hold medication order

Method 2 - modify the order to start at a future date, if known

• Otherwise you can simply discontinue the medication and re-order it later, however it can then be forgotten and ‘drop off’ the MAR

* Done by IV team on Mon-Fri, preferably in MORNINGS

Orders > order the PICC insertion order set

• Adjust timing (lido at same time as insertion, THEN CXR to confirm placement)

• You must have a signed consent form before the IV team arrives

• PICC removals are done by the medical team only

Discharge Orders > order Oxygen Therapy (Outpatient) > input flow rates & SpO2 target

• Sign/print this like a regular discharge script

• Fax prescription to 905-521-6071
